A bank manager, Fatai Aguntasolo was Tuesday docked before an Akure Chief Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing N12m meant for the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) of his bank.
Consequently, the Court presided by Mrs Olayinka Omole ordered that the 43-year-old bank manager be remanded at Olukuta Prison until the next adjourned date.
The accused person, who is the manager of a new generation bank, is facing a charge of stealing and fraudulent conversion of N12m to his own personal use.
According to prosecution, the accused person committed the offence at Ido-Ekiti cash centre of Skye Bank Plc under the Akure Regional Office, in Akure Magisterial District on July 8, 2015.
The accused person, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him.
The Police Prosecutor, Inspector Ajibola Aderemi prayed the court for an adjournment of the case to enable him assemble his witnesses and study the case file.
Counsel to the accused person, Mr Ajayi Adeolu urged the court to grant his client bail in most liberal terms assuring the court that he would not abscond if the application is granted
